Visit a city centre Church by nightfall, light a candle with prayerful intentions for friends & family. Soak up the spiritual atmosphere of live music, while passers-by take a curious peek. In away, this is an invitation to young people searching for peace, truth & hope. This event aims to encourage those who may be apprehensive in a somewhat similar way Nicodemus was, when he visited Jesus after dusk.

<contact>Nightfever Cork; 085 22 58773</contact>

Nightfever is simple and brilliant at the same time. Nightfever particularly invites Teenagers and Young Adults to an encounter with God.
Whoever goes out on a Friday or Saturday night usually have other destinations like pubs, dance clubs or cinemas on their mind. For this reason we want to address these people to pause for a moment, to put aside their initial plan and to come into the church. We offer the guests a candle and invite them to light it up in the church.
Whoever enters the church is usually surprised by the nice atmosphere, since the church is illuminated almost exclusively by candles, and there is quiet Live Music that goes on throughout the night. Inside the church you are welcome to light up a candle, to receive a paper with a quote from the bible or simply just take a seat and write down a prayer intention and/or to speak with a priest.

Matt Talbot is a role model for young people, particularly those who struggle with addiction. Matt’s life is a testimony to overcoming the power of addiction. Fr. Richard invites you to the Matt Talbot Youth Day Novena Mass for Palm Sunday. There will be a gathering around this monument before Holy Mass. This Novena is part of a special 90th Anniversary of Matt Talbot died in 1925. The Salesian Fathers have a great devotion to Matt Talbot, following the foot steps of St. John Paul II. Matt Talbot’s resting place is within the Byzantine themed church of Our Lady of Lourdes.
